Hackensack, NJ – Continuing with its Spring 2008 “Pick” awards, Buyers Laboratory
Inc. (BLI) announced the winners in the wide-format category today, with accolades
going to HP, Canon and Xerox. The world’s leading tester of document imaging products
for close to half a century, BLI added wide-format products to its offerings a
year ago to address the growing demand for information from the graphics, engineering
and corporate markets. Today’s “Picks” are the first awarded by BLI in this increasingly
important category. Presented semi-annually, the “Picks” acknowledge the best
products tested in their respective categories in a wide range of performance
areas. In the case of wide-format products, these include reliability, ease of
use, image quality and productivity, among others.
Spring 2008 Wide-Format “Pick” winner is:
Xerox Corporation
Xerox 6204 with FreeFlow Accxes Controller
Outstanding Wide-Format Monochrome MFP
Xerox 6204 Offers Exceptional Versatility
BLI’s “Pick” for “Outstanding Wide-Format Monochrome MFP,” the Xerox 6204 demonstrated
both excellent reliability and impressive ease of use. The 6204 is distinguished
from other MFPs by its integrated 36-inch scanner, which allows for a smaller
footprint, although it is also available with an optional standalone 42” color
scanner with a faster speed of up to 7.3 inches per second. BLI’s Tischner said,
“This MFP does it all and does it all extremely well,” noting in particular its
very good print and copy quality, quiet operation, easy-to-navigate control panel
and simple supplies replacement. While BLI tested the 6204 as a copier/printer/scanner
with the optional FreeFlow Accxes Controller, this versatile model comes standard
with a basic print controller and is available in four configurations. It also
enables users to upgrade the standard 4-ppm print speed to 5 ppm.
